In a sweet Cape Cod in Morris Plains a couple had a dream to make a primary suite that would be the oasis of their retirement. The two bedrooms on the main level were gutted to create a new bathroom, generous closet and primary bedroom complete with a new deck leading to their immaculate backyard gardens and pool.
The project is nearly complete so check back soon for more coverage of this awesome job soon!
After our initial meeting, we narrowed down what we wanted the finished space to feel like and went straight into documentation, preparing the filing set to submit for permits.
The adjacent powder room, a frequent stop for summer swimmers, was included in the design scope. To eliminate the serpentine path people had to take through the house, we removed a set of crumbling Bilco doors and extended the new deck to allow for an exterior door to access the powder room directly, no more wet floors!
After a few rounds of designing, we finalized all the specs for the master bath and were ready for constuction to begin.
