Long time residents were looking to update their sweet lake home. Some existing furniture stayed, some was DIY refinished and some new pieces helped restyle this home after we selected new luxury vinyl plank flooring.
The first step of any design is to see what kind of style the client gravitates towards, what their likes and dislikes are. I always start with inspiration boards to get the creative process rolling.
After we pinpoint what we want the room to look like, I select options for all the pieces we need as well as accessories and artwork. From there I provide links to all the products selected and reselect anything that the client didn't love.
From the start we knew painting the dining room would transform it and help it feel more like part of the rest of the house. I created a few studies showing the different options for painting the room so the client could visualize the options. From there we picked new chairs, reframed the sentimental art and reduced the amount of decor for a fresh and clean look.
The client is quite handy and took on painting the credenza and refinishing the dining room table herself once we settled on a color scheme. The chandelier took the place of an old high hat and helped take the room to the next level.
The kitchen stayed intact minus the new flooring but we restyled the decor and added new stools to match the new dining chairs.
