Beginning as I always do, we explored some inspiration images to hone in on what style and color cabinetry we wanted to go for. Using the architect of record's drawings as a base, we layered our kitchen design on top to allow us to get preliminary pricing and availability for our cabinetry.
From the get go the client expressed an interest in navy or green to bring out the adirondack character of the Log Cabin. To foil that idea, I proposed an ivory scheme that would give more of a modern yet still warm feel to the space.
The old kitchen was a galley so we wanted to open the design up as much as possible. A large, multi-sided island creates a statement and simultaneously provides a ton of hidden storage.
Construction can be such an arduous undertaking but the results are undeniable! With the old wall down we can finally see where the new open kitchen will be. The enlarged opening into the new room connects the addition to the redeigned kitchen and will create one unified and beautiful home!
